If you have ever wondered what it would be like to foxhunt in Central Ohio with the Rocky Fork Headley Hunt – now is your chance! We have 10 spots reserved for Hunter Pace Guests to come and hunt with us on Saturday, October the 17th.
Rocky Fork Headley Hunt (RFHH) hosts the annual Hunter Pace Series as summer fund-raising events for our club. However, as fall approaches, our club members enjoy the sport of riding to hounds and perpetuating the traditions of foxhunting in the Central Ohio area. Mounted foxhunting has existed in America since the Colonial days, and in Ohio as early as the 1870s. The “Colonies” have added their own distinct flavor in that U.S. and Canadian hunts pursue coyote in addition to red and grey fox. Our foxhunting season runs from mid-August to the beginning of April and during most of that time, we take our hounds out 3 times a week to hunt in some of the most beautiful parts of Central Ohio.
If you and your horse can maintain a safe distance between yourselves and other horses and riders while along a trail at a walk, trot and canter – are comfortable riding up and down hills, crossing creeks and are able, at the minimum, to step over fallen logs we would love to have you come join the hunt with us on Saturday, October the 17th!
